In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Norman Kroos, and sister Margaret “Peggy” Shirk. Mrs. Ghent was the last surviving member of her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Ghent Jr.; her son, John W. Ghent III; her parents; and her sister, Doris Burns. The family thanks Dr. Spencer Phillips and the many other health care professionals that provided exemplary care to Charlotte. She maintained her cherished independence until her last day. Charlotte was the daughter of Carl and Jane Long, losing her father at age 3.
Mrs. Ghent enjoyed watching birds and working in her yard. Our deepest sympathies for family and all that knew this unique, stylish, independent lady. Our neighbor for 8 years, Charlotte was always a lively participant of every gathering with a wonderful sense of humor and wonderful wit. Charlotte approached her illness with dignity and common sense reality. Charlotte shall be deeply and dearly missed by all!
